Stay Safe and Stay Healthy, Together as a Community We Shall Come Through the COVID-19 Pandemic.

March 26, 2020 Update

In regards to the COVID-19 pandemic closures and social distancing measures in place. California’s order remains open-ended, our County’s Department of Public Health has set a deadline of April 6, 2020.

The California Dental Association says that National guidance suggests April 12, 2020, however, some public health officials are questioning that deadline.  As such we are rescheduling those patients with appointments April 7-12, 2020.

March 31, 2020 Update

For over 40 years, our Practice has lived by a core value established by our founder, Dr. Brian Lee, to “take care of our patients and team members.” This enduring value guides us as we face the difficult challenge of responding to the COVID-19, pandemic.

Thank you for doing your part in flattening the curve.  As Governor Gavin Newsom stated at a COVID-19 Press Conference, “We believe very strongly the stay-at-home order has helped advance our efforts in reducing the stress on the system that we believe would have already materialized in more acute ways had we not advanced those protocols when we did.”

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are on the front line working to contain this coronavirus.  Please know that we are vigilantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation around the clock and have precautions in place to ensure our community is safe and that we continue to do our part to flatten the curve.

As Public Health Officials have tracked the status of the coronavirus pandemic, there are still increases in the number of positive cases, hospitalization and deaths from COVID-19, which is beginning to strain healthcare resources.  As such, Health officers in seven Bay Area jurisdictions are extending a previous stay-at-home order through May 3, 2020 in order to preserve critical hospital capacity across the region.

To summarize, the COVID-19 pandemic closures and social distancing measures in place: California’s order remains open-ended, National guidance suggests April 30, and our County’s Department of Public Health has extended San Mateo County’s Shelter in Place Order through May, 3, 2020.

As such we are rescheduling those patients who have appointments through May 4, 2020.

May 7, 2020 Update:  Resuming California’s Deferred and Preventive Health Care

During the COVID-19 pandemic both State and Local governments have worked together to respond to the pandemic. Stay-at-Home orders are in place and have supported the flattening of the curve in California.

Current evidence shows progress in suppressing the virus and there is much to consider for the future of the State and to protect against a surge, once Stay-at-Home orders are modified. One important focus will be resuming our existing health care system for non-emergent and non-COVID-19 health care, which has been deferred during this time.

These services will include resuming elective, non-urgent procedures routine dental services.

During the Stay in Place orders, Happy Healthy Teeth has developed social distancing protocols and has implemented new technologies such as electronic health records and telehealth to ensure continued Safe Care that our patients have come to expect.

As such, Happy Healthy Teeth will be phasing in dental services and will be reinstating our team members to full time status May 11, 2020.  Before we phase in clinical patient care, we will be updating and training our team on the updated policies, procedures and technologies.  We expect to slowly phase in dental services during the later half of May.
